Aston Villa forward Keinan Davis is set to have a medical at Nottingham Forest today (Friday) ahead of a loan move to the City Ground, according to The Telegraph’s John Percy.

Davis has made 86 senior appearances for Villa, 34 of which have come in the Premier League.

However, he’s only featured once in the league this season and is yet to appear under Steven Gerrard.

Villa forward set for Forest loan

An exit of some kind was always on the cards in January and it looks like Forest have won the race for his signature.

The Express and Star reported on Thursday that a loan deal until the end of the season is set to be completed soon after the transfer window officially opens.

John Percy of the Telegraph added on Twitter that Davis’ medical will take place on Friday.

A good move for Davis and Forest?

It hasn’t been an ideal few months for Davis, with injury sidelining him at the start of the season and then after he returned to fitness, the competition for places at Villa Park proved to be too strong.

Clearly, he’d rather be playing Premier League football, but regular playing time is more attainable at the City Ground.

His return of six goals in 86 senior appearances may concern some Forest fans but his numbers are slightly misleading given how often he’s been deployed as a substitute.

He has plenty of other strings to his bow anyway, though, and he could be an important player over the second half of the season as Steve Cooper’s side look to push for the playoffs.
