Speaking on the Eleven Sports YouTube channel, Danny Mills has been discussing Patrick Bamford and how much Leeds have missed him this season.
The striker was the Whites’ leading goalscorer last term, netting no fewer than 17 league goals for the Elland Road outfit.
However, this term, injury has meant he’s been limited to just six Premier League appearances this term and two goals.
Mills says that Leeds haven’t just missed Bamford’s goals either, he claims that the striker is unlike any other forward in the league, stating that the way he presses is unlike anyone else.
What’s been said?
Mills was speaking about Bamford.
“Patrick Bamford, of course, he didn’t only score all of the goals last season, but he plays possible unlike any other centre-forward in the way he closes down and the way he starts the press, but having said that, Marcelo Bielsa’s principles of playing the same way, yes I respect that, but when that’s not working and you have three key players missing, you have to change that at some point,” Mills said.

Unique
Mills says that Bamford is unlike any other forward in the league, and while we have to disagree with that due to the pressing the likes of Diogo Jota and Ollie Watkins do, he is a unique player.
Indeed, not many footballers can combine such a high-energy style with such goalscoring ability, and Leeds have undoubtedly missed him.
Yes, Dan James has been able to pick up the slack in terms of pressing, but his goalscoring instincts just aren’t at Bamford’s level.
The sooner Bamford is back for Leeds, the better.
