Fabrizio Romano has reported on Twitter that Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal will not be able to sign Ivan Fresneda from Real Valladolid in the final two days of the January transfer window.
The Italian journalist has claimed that Arsenal want to bring Fresneda to the Emirates Stadium in the middle of the season.
German club Borussia Dortmund also want to sign the 18-year-old Spanish right-back.
However, the teenager will now stay at Valladolid for the rest of the season, according to Romano, who has added that things could change if “there are twists in the final hours”.
Arsenal star Ivan Fresneda to stay at Real Valladolid

Should the Gunners be disappointed?
In our view, Arsenal need not be too disappointed if Ivan Fresneda does not move to the club now.
The Gunners could always make a bid for the right-back in the summer of 2023.
It was always going to be tough to sign as good and talented a player as Fresneda in the middle of the season.
Moreover, Arsenal are not exactly in dire need of a right-back right now.
Ben White is doing exceptionally well at right-back for Arsenal at the moment despite being a centre-back by trade.
And Takehiro Tomiyasu remains a capable right-back.
So, in our view, Arsenal need not be too disappointed if they are unable to secure the services of Fresneda now.
