Kevin Campbell has stated that he wouldn’t sign Paulo Dybala for Arsenal on a free transfer in the summer, as he told the Highbury Squad.
The former striker admitted that Arsenal need a player that has ‘power’, ‘speed’ and is a ‘finisher at the top of the pitch’, not the soon-to-be departing Juventus star.
Dybala is one of the most exciting forwards in Serie A, but he is heading for the exit door after failing to agree on a new deal in Turin.
Arsenal are searching for that striker(s) this summer, and whilst Dybala isn’t an out-and-out number nine, the 28-year-old is a goalscorer in those forward areas.
Despite a player of Dybala’s qualities being available for nothing, in terms of a transfer fee, Campbell made it clear that he wouldn’t snap him up for the north London club.
“No, no,” said Campbell. “Unless he was scoring 20 odd goals. But he hasn’t got size.
“He is a good player, don’t get me wrong. You know what we need. We need power, speed and a finisher at the top of the pitch. That’s what we need.”

The problem Arsenal have with a player like Dybala is that, without the ball, he doesn’t suit what Mikel Arteta demands of his players.
But, in terms of his ability to carry the ball, versatility across the front three and technical talent, he is someone who would improve Arsenal’s forward line.
Although, he is injury-prone and he will be 29 in November, so from that perspective, he isn’t what Arsenal have been bringing in during recent times.
Either way, if the Gunners secure Champions League football, then they will feel that they have some sort of upper hand on other teams to sign him because they would have put their name with the elite once more.
