It looks like Gareth Bale is fit enough to return for Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
Bale has sat out Premier League games against Arsenal and Liverpool this month due to an unspecified illness.
But he was among the players spotted in Tottenham training at Hotspur Way on Friday ahead of tomorrow’s visit of Leicester City.
And Jose Mourinho, speaking in his pre-match press conference, confirmed that the Real Madrid loanee is now ‘fine’.
It’s been a pretty subdued season for Bale so far following his fairytale and romantic return to the Lilywhites, managing only 116 minutes of Premier League football across three appearances.
Even when he is fit, Mourinho doesn’t tend to start him and here’s how Tottenham fans reacted on Twitter to the fact he’s available tomorrow:
The Portuguese coach tends to play Steven Bergwijn in the big games – and tomorrow is quite a big game.
Prior to losing at Liverpool on Wednesday, Mourinho’s side were considered genuine title challengers, but defeat by the Foxes could potentially see the second-placed North Londoners drop to sixth and fall six points behind the Reds at the summit.
