Tom Lawrence has left Manchester United for Leicester City.
Tom Lawrence has tweeted a message to Manchester United fans following his deadline day move to Leicester City.
The Welsh forward signed a four-year deal at the newly-promoted club for an undisclosed fee, joining United teammate Nick Powell who moved on a season-long loan.
Lawrence’s move comes less than four months afer he made his senior debut for the club in a 3-1 victory against Hull City.
Lawrence was picked along with fellow debutant James Wilson in one of Ryan Giggs’ four matches as interim boss. But while Wilson is expected to have a big future at United Lawrence has opted to move on.
The 20-year-old operates as a secondary striker and could be a canny addition to the Foxes’ squad. But it was clearly a tough decision to leave as Lawrence reflected on his Twitter account on Tuesday.
“Thanks to all the MUFC fans for the kind messages,” he wrote. “Never forget making my debut for the club I’ve supported as a kid. But looking forward to a new chapter at LCFC and can’t wait to get started.”
