On a big night for Yedlin, the Newcastle United man was heavily involved for his country against Paraguay.

Newcastle United defender DeAndre Yedlin made his 50th senior appearance for the United States on Tuesday night in a 1-0 win against Paraguay.
In a youthful side, Yedlin’s milestone cap made him by far the most experienced player in the American group and he was heavily involved in North Carolina.
The 24-year-old charged up and down the right flank as is standard in every game he plays, contributing at both ends of the field, and getting involved in a few contentious moments.

US fans were paying particular close attention to a full-back who was part of the team that failed to qualify for the World Cup, and it’s safe to say their views varied.
Some were impressed with Yedlin, some were not. Some liked his feisty approach to clashes with Paraguay players, others were concerned that he might be sent off.
It was a mixed night for the former Seattle Sounders man, with supporters also analysing a typically outlandish hairstyle…
Yedlin managed to avoid a red card despite his yellow card for clashing with opponents and officials, playing the full 90 minutes.
With a huge clash against Huddersfield Town just days away, Newcastle fans might have preferred the defender to get a rest but he is a player who copes well with the workload.
They will now hope he is back on Tyneside and ready in good time to earn three points at the weekend.
