Rounding up how Manchester United’s current crop of loan stars fared at the weekend.

Manchester United have a number of players currently out on loan with some more likely to have futures at Old Trafford than others.

Here we take a look at the players currently attempting to impress elsewhere.

Nick Powell – Leicester City

Attacking midfielder Nick Powell did not experience any first-team action this weekend , spending Leicester City’s match against Aston Villa on the bench.

The Foxes slipped to a 2-1 defeat and the young United player was forced to wait a little longer to show what he can do in the top flight having featured for just 25 minutes in the Premier League this campaign.

Reece James – Rotherham United

United’s 21-year-old left-back Reece James played the full 90 minutes for Rotherham United’s match against Cardiff City, helping his loan side to a much-needed clean-sheet in a 0-0 draw.

The Bluebirds had a number of ex-United players on show including Fabio and Federico Macheda.

Angelo Henriquez – Dinamo Zagreb

Chilean striker Angelo Henriquez kept up his brilliant goal-scoring form to net the second goal in Dinamo Zagreb’s 3-0 victory against Rijeka.

That strike means the 20-year-old has now scored 14 goals this season, nine of which have come in the league.

Nani – Sporting Lisbon

Portuguese international Nani had a match to forget on a personal level, injuring a thigh and leaving the field early on Friday evening.

Sporting Lisbon would go on to beat Boavista 3-1 but the on-loan United star has since been ruled out of the vital Champions League encounter with Chelsea.

Javier Hernandez – Real Madrid

Real Madrid beat Celta Vigo courtesy of yet another hat-trick from former United star Cristiano Ronaldo.

Javier Hernandez came on in the 85th minute but had little time to add to that tally.

Wilfried Zaha – Crystal Palace

Wilfried Zaha had a fine match against Tottenham Hotspur as the Eagles drew 0-0 at White Hart Lane.

He went on 11 dribbles and tied Spurs’ players in knots, but his lack of end product is still a worry and he failed to play a single key pass or have a shot on target.

Guillermo Varela – Real Madrid Castilla

Uruguayan right-back Guillermo Varela has impressed since moving to Real Madrid’s B team in the summer and he enjoyed a 2-0 victory against Sestao River on Sunday.

He has recently been praised by his manager Zinedine Zidane and looks like having a bright future in the game, be that at United or elsewhere.
