Some Arsenal fans on Twitter are firmly behind reported plans to sign Manchester United’s Donny van de Beek.

According to 90 min, Arsenal have contacted the Red Devils about signing the £40 million midfielder.

The Dutchman didn’t have a rip-roaring first season at Manchester United last term after a summer move from Ajax.

Here’s how some fans of the North London club have reacted to potentially signing him:

Money problems

Despite a poor first season in the Premier League, it seems unlikely that the Red Devils would be willing to sell.

And if they are prepared to offload, they wouldn’t be ready to take a massive hit on their initial outlay.

Bottom line, Arsenal will still have to pay a lot of money for the Netherlands international and it remains to be seen if they can afford it.

The Emirates Stadium club certainly need midfielders amid speculation that Granit Xhaka and Matteo Guendouzi will be leaving.

But Arsenal are only going to pick up a combined £30 million from both and with speculation about Yves Bissouma coming in, there won’t be much left over for Van de Beek.
