The Rangers striker has excelled since linking up with Steven Gerrard at Ibrox.

Jermain Defoe this week expressed a desire to remain a Rangers player beyond the end of his current loan spell (Sky Sports).
Defoe has scored 20 goals in 34 games since his January move to Rangers, on an 18-month loan from Bournemouth.
Those have taken his career tally to well over the 300-mark. And despite him having turned 37 on Monday, there are still some fans south of the border who believe he could still cut it at the very highest level.
This is what they are saying about the on-loan Rangers star on Twitter…
Defoe’s Bournemouth deal expires at the end of the current campaign, allowing him to sign for a club of his choosing for free.
And those of a Rangers persuasion will hope that the former West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur striker is true to his word.

Defoe previously played alongside the Rangers manager Steven Gerrard for the England national team.
