Leeds United have won their fourth game in a row, beating Ipswich Town 1-0 at Elland Road.

The winning goal was scored by in form striker Chris Wood, who has netted in each of those four wins.

Yet he still can’t please everybody, as his teammate Liam Cooper learned on Saturday evening.

Cooper sent a tweet praising Chris Wood, describing him as ‘on fire’.

Among the replies was a message from a Leeds fan, who was still not swayed by Wood’s form.

The message read that Wood is still one of the worst strikers Leeds have ever had – which is extreme considering just 18 months ago they had Edgar Cani coming off the bench.

Cooper was in the mood to stick up for his pal, and hit back the the message, urging the fan to go and support another club instead.

Of course only after a win could a Leeds player get away with a comment like that towards a fan, but the criticism of Wood is unjustified in light of his recent form.

His goals have propelled Leeds into 12th place in the Championship, having sat in 21st just three league games ago.
