Jack Wilshere has admitted that Tottenham Hotspur are genuine title contenders this season on the ITV Football Show.
Tottenham currently lead the way in the Premier League table, after what has been a brilliant start to the campaign.
And they have now managed to make a believer out of former Arsenal man, Jack Wilshere.
“A lot of my family are Tottenham fans and I actually enjoy watching them play under Jose,” Wilshere said.
“I think Jose’s fantastic, he’s a fantastic manager and fantastic coach.
“And if anyone is going to do it with Tottenham it’s going to be Jose, let’s be honest.
“They do look really strong – they’ve bought in Bale, they have Son and Kane up top, that’s one of the top three strike-forces in the league.
“They have improved massively defensively, and their midfield is strong so they have a good chance, unfortunately.”
The fact that Wilshere now considers Tottenham a title contender really does prove how well they have performed this season.
Wilshere has famously enjoyed winding up Spurs fans, but nobody can take away from how impressive Jose Mourinho’s men have been this term.
Tottenham’s latest victory was against Manchester City, and they throughly outplayed Pep Guardiola’s side on their way to a 2-0 victory.
Spurs are next in domestic action this weekend, when they take on Chelsea in what looks like a huge game already.
