Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has told his pre-match press conference that it’s unfortunate that Leeds fans won’t be allowed in Elland Road ahead of Manchester United’s visit on Sunday.
Even though there is not much riding on the game, in the sense that Leeds are comfortable in mid-table and Man United have all but secured a Champions League spot, it is still a heavyweight encounter and a tasty affair.
It’s a crying shame that both of Leeds’ returning showdowns with their bitter rivals have been played behind closed doors, but many will be hoping that normal service resumes next season.
But until then, Solskjaer shared his thoughts on the rivalry with Leeds and their supporters.
“Talking about exciting football games, Leeds away is an exciting game for us,” said Solskjaer.
“Well, inside the stadium there won’t be any fans, unfortunately, but it’s important we focus on our game.
“You know fans between our clubs have always had a rivalry and it has to be a healthy rivalry.
“That’s important as well in a period like this that we don’t incite or brew anything up. We play football.”

All eyes will be on the opening ten minutes and whether Manchester United can produce yet another fast-paced start.
Whilst Leeds shot themselves in the foot in how they opened that reverse encounter at Old Trafford, you can bet your bottom dollar with the form Leeds are in, the same won’t happen again.
If Sunday’s showdown ends 6-5 it wouldn’t surprise anybody, and as Leeds have proven recently against Liverpool and Manchester City, this isn’t going to be an easy game for those in Red.
