Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Nuno Espirito Santo has given an injury update at Tottenham Hotspur ahead of their game against Vitesse.

Spurs are going to play a heavily rotated team against the Eredivisie outfit. In fact, every outfield player that started against Newcastle at the weekend is going to stay in England for this fixture in order to prepare for Spurs’ game against West Ham.

However, there are two players that didn’t play against the Magpies that aren’t going to feature here.

Indeed, Matt Doherty and Ryan Sessegnon have both been ruled out of the game against Vitesse, but Nuno hopes to have some good news about the pair next week.

What’s been said?

Nuno gave an update on the full-backs’ fitness.

“I’m just going to ask about injury news, are Matt Doherty and Ryan Sessgenon still out?” One journalist asked.

“Yes, unfortunately yes, Matt Doherty is improving, Sessegnon also, but they are not in the group yet. Next week we will see if we have some good news,” Nuno said.

Davies and Tanganga in

Sergio Reguilon and Emerson Royal are going to be staying in England for this fixture, while Sessegnon and Doherty are out, so it seems logical to think that Ben Davies and Japhet Tanganga will start at full-back for this game.

It’s likely that the pair will play alongside Davinson Sanchez and Joe Rodon at centre-half, while the midfield and attack is anyone’s guess.

This may not be the best team we see Tottenham field this season, but it will certainly be amongst the most interesting starting XIs we see all year.
