James Maddison has told LCFC TV he expects an ‘interesting’ game when Leicester City play host to Leeds United in Jesse Marsch’s first match as Marcelo Bielsa’s successor.
The Whites visit the Foxes at the King Power Stadium on Saturday hoping to enjoy the new manager bounce. Andrea Radrizzani sacked Bielsa last weekend with the Elland Road outfit just 16th in the standings and fearing for the West Yorkshire natives’ Premier League place.
United sit just two-points clear of the drop zone following a run of two wins in their last 12 games. They had also lost five of their last six, drawing once, while conceding 21 goals. The 20 allowed through February alone set a Premier League record for the most in one month.

Leeds are also dependant on results elsewhere to secure another year in the top-flight this season. While the Whites are outside of the relegation places at present, they have played twice more than Everton in 17th and once more than Burnley in 18th in a two-point gap.
Maddison expects ‘interesting’ Leeds clash in Jesse Marsch’s first game
Radrizzani felt results dictated a change, so sacked Bielsa and has hired Marsch as Leeds’ new manager. And he will look to get his tenure off to the perfect start against the Foxes.
Maddison feels Leeds’ change in manager from Bielsa to Marsch will cause Leicester some new challenges when they meet. He also accepts Brendan Rodgers’ side will go into the game somewhat blind being the first side to face the new-look Whites this season.
“Well, Leeds is always a very interesting game because of their unique style of play under Marcelo Bielsa,” Maddison said. “So, it will be interesting to see what type of football the new manager is going to play.

“We’re just unfortunate we’re that first game where we’re going to go in fairly blind. But it’s still going to be played on grass with two goals at the end of each side. So, we’ll be looking to go and get three-points at home in a game like that, definitely.”
Leeds drew 1-1 with Leicester when the two sides met at Elland Road under Bielsa earlier this season. They also won 3-1 at the King Power Stadium last term following a 4-1 defeat at home. Stuart Dallas, Patrick Bamford and Jack Harrison scored for Leeds to win away.
