Speaking on the Webby & O’Neill YouTube channel, Paul Scholes has been discussing Tottenham Hotspur and Jose Mourinho’s treatment of Gareth Bale.
It’s no secret that Bale and Mourinho haven’t always seen eye to eye this season, and Scholes believes that there could be some kind of underlying issue that we don’t know about between the pair.
“He’s got a good group of players at Tottenham. You mentioned three there, Bale, Son and Harry Kane. He’s been a little bit critical of Bale especially. It’s very hard when you don’t see behind the scenes, you don’t know what his attitude is like, it might not be great in training. There might be underlying things that you don’t know about,” Scholes said.

The Manchester United legend knows as well as anyone that Mourinho can alienate a player.
The gaffer had his issues with the likes of Paul Pogba and Luke Shaw when he was at United and earlier this season it looked as though Bale was headed down the same path.
In recent months it’s looked as though the Welshman has been back on the same page as Mourinho, and we can only hope that he can show what he’s all about between now and the end of the season.
