Rangers defender James Tavernier is in poor form at Ibrox.

Rangers defender James Tavernier has told The Scottish Sun that he knows how to deal with criticism from fans, and it will only drive him on to be better.
The Gers beat Motherwell 2-1 on Sunday afternoon, as goals from Jermain Defoe and Filip Helander swung the game on its head and handed Steven Gerrard’s men all three points.
It wasn’t entirely convincing from Rangers though, and fans witness another mixed display from right back Tavernier, as has often been the case recently.
Tavernier hit the post from a first half penalty, meaning he has now scored just two of his five spot kicks this season, and is at risk of losing his spot as Rangers’ penalty taker.
He did though put in a fine cross for Helander’s winner, showing his quality going forward even if he isn’t in the best form defensively or from the penalty spot.
Tavernier committed a major error in the 1-1 draw at Hearts earlier this month, and fans have been slating his displays of late, with the 27-year-old in the firing line as Rangers captain.
Now, Tavernier has responded to the criticism from Rangers fans, claiming he knows how to deal with it, and expects the pelters he receives when he makes mistakes.

Tavernier added that the displeasure from fans only drives him on to be better, and promised to learn from his errors and come back even stronger; Rangers fans will just have to hope that’s sooner rather than later.
“That is part of football and you are always going to get criticism,” said Tavernier. “I am a big enough character to deal with it and I know how to deal with it. You are going to expect it when you make mistakes.”
“I am human and I will learn from it and I will come back even stronger. It only drives me on and makes me stronger and makes me better,” he added.
