He told Stadium Astro: “It’s a lack of quality. Eric Dier, shinning the ball out of play. Lenglet, not marking, not good on the ball. Tanganga, his timing of the header is like Under-15s.”
It’s a pretty scathing and harsh assessment from the former Spurs midfielder, it has to be said.
Yes, Tanganga struggled at times but you need to keep in mind the context.
As mentioned, the Hotspur Way academy player was making his return to this competition following a lengthy injury and going up against someone of Toney’s quality, well this was always on the cards for the poor lad.
