The upcoming fight has grown tense following some sharp words exchanged between the two fighters.
Adesanya’s recent comments about nearing retirement have only added fuel to the fire. Though he hasn’t set a timeline, he made it clear that he can see the end of his career on the horizon.
“It depends how I feel because if I come back and I feel fresh, like we make sure everything is taken care of outside the cage, yeah, who knows. Like I said life is long but my fighting days are long as well so we’ll see,” Adesanya shared with Israel21c.
The former two-time UFC middleweight champion has nothing left to prove, though his recent run of poor results has led many to question what more there is for him in fighting.
Shahzaib Rind reacts to Diego Brandao calling him “young” ahead of their fight

Diego Brandao’s 10-fight run in the UFC, where he won ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ and faced big names like Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier, came to an end in 2016.
He has managed to stay active ever since, adding more experience over the years and building a record of 33-22.
And after going six fights without a win at one point, he’s found some new momentum recently with three straight victories under the Tuff-N-Uff banner.
This Friday, Brandao steps into a different spotlight as he faces Shahzaib Rind at Karate Combat 59 – the same night Valter Walker is scheduled to take on Zion Clark.
Rind, who held the lightweight belt during his unbeaten run in the promotion, felt like he was being looked down on when Brandao referred to him as “young.”
Shahzaib Rind is using Diego Brandao as a pathway to an MMA move
Shahzaib Rind was originally scheduled to face Natan Levy, another former UFC fighter, before landing the matchup with Diego Brandao.
He mentioned to Bloody Elbow that there’s unfinished business with the former lightweight who fought four times in the Octagon.
Having already expressed interest in competing in MMA, Rind sees victories over both of these opponents as steps closer to making that transition.
“Then the world is going to know what level I’m on, that I have to fight only the best fighters. Then, that’s my plan, to switch to MMA at one point.”
