Some Chelsea fans on Twitter believe their club is set to kill Arsenal’s chances of signing Lautaro Martinez.
Martinez has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal in recent weeks.
According to reports in Italy, the Gunners have even lodged a £60 million bid with Inter Milan for the Argentina international.
Problem is, Chelsea are closer to signing another Inter forward in the form of Romelu Lukaku.
And the San Siro club won’t be in a position to sell both – and here’s how some fans of the Stamford Bridge club reacted to potentially ruining Arsenal’s hopes of Martinez.
Abraham?
This, as some of them pointed out, could be a double win for Chelsea, because if Arsenal can’t get the South American then their attentions would turn back toward Tammy Abraham, who plays in West London.
And with the Blues wanting a reported £40 million for the player, Chelsea could sign a world-class striker, deprive their London rivals of one and get handsomely compensated for doing so by selling them Abraham, all in one fell swoop.
There’s a lot of moving parts to this and all hinges on Lukaku being completed.
