Speaking on Liverpool’s YouTube channel, Virgil van Dijk has been expressing his surprise after seeing Naby Keita’s burst of speed against Manchester United.

Van Dijk, alongside Ibrahima Konate, had the pleasure of commentating over the Reds’ 5-0 win against Manchester United earlier this season, and he was stunned when watching Keita’s first-goal back.

Keita made a bursting run from the midfield to arrive into the area, and the Dutchman couldn’t believe how quick the midfielder actually is.

What’s been said?

Van Dijk was blown away by Keita’s pace.

“Naby lad, what a finish, look at him, what a player, unbelievable. Did you know that Naby lad was that quick?” van Dijk said.

No slouch

It’s hard to really notice it in this Liverpool team, but Naby Keita is an exceptionally quick player.

Unfortunately for the Guinean, he’s surrounded by some of the fastest people on the planet in this Liverpool team.

Indeed, the likes of Sadio Mane, Diogo Jota, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk are lightning quick, and sadly, Keita is overshadowed in this team.

However, when Keita turns on the afterburners he can get the better of almost any Premier League player.

Of course, playing against Harry Maguire in this instance helped him a fair bit, but the point still stands, Keita is no slouch.
