Dean Saunders has described Jarrod Bowen’s goal in West Ham United’s 3-1 win against Brighton & Hove Albion as “unbelievable”.

Jarrod Bowen grabbed West Ham‘s second of the game, helping the Hammers to claim all three points on the day.

Speaking about the 26-year-old’s finish on talkSPORT, Saunders said: “Jarrod Bowen has just joined the [Riyad] Mahrez and [Mohamed] Salah club of controlling a 50-yard pass, on the half-volley. What a goal! That’s going to be hard to beat, for me, Goal of the Season.”

Saunders later went on to add: “It was an unbelievable goal.”

Bowen has made a great start to the new Premier League season, with his strike against Brighton making it two goals in three games for the English winger.

He also recorded an assist in that win at the Amex Stadium, so it is clear to see that he is at the top of his game right now.

Jarrod Bowen is underrated

Bowen probably does not get the credit he deserves. On his day, he is arguably one of the best attackers in the Premier League.

Back in the 2021/22 season, for example, the England international managed to score 12 goals and provide 10 assists in 36 top-flight outings.

It was also Bowen, of course, who netted the winner for David Moyes’ side in their 2-1 win against Fiorentina in the Europa Conference League final last term.

It is probably only a matter of time before one of the Premier League’s elite clubs come knocking, with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp clearly a fan of the player.

“Bowen, what a player he became!” Klopp was quoted as saying by the Evening Standard last year. “Unbelievable.”

However, even after selling Declan Rice, West Ham are in a good place right now. If they can keep it up and continue to qualify for European competitions, as they have done in the last few seasons, maybe they will be able to keep hold of their key players going forward.
