Antonio Conte’s Tottenham future is in doubt after The Athletic reported that Tottenham Hotspur are worried about whether or not he will sign a new contract.
There had reportedly been positive indications about Conte’s situation in the past, but now, that has all changed and insiders are concerned that the Italian will be leaving in 2023.
Conte leaving Spurs would be a blow. He’s a fantastic coach who has proven time and time again that he has what it takes to win top honours.
There would be many inside Spurs that are reeling after hearing new rumours about a potential Conte departure, but there’s one man who may quietly be quite pleased to hear this.
We’re talking about Djed Spence.

The right-back arrived at Spurs this summer with a lot of fanfare after a brilliant season with Nottingham Forest that saw him labelled as ‘unbelievable’.
Make no mistake about it, this is a talented player, but, for one reason or another, Antonio Conte isn’t his biggest fan.
As soon as he arrived, Conte admitted he was a signing picked by the club rather than himself, while Alasdair Gold has said that the Italian hasn’t been convinced by the full-back.
To say that Spence has had limited opportunities to prove himself would be an understatement. He’s played just three Premier League minutes this season, and his career is in danger of stalling under Conte.
However, if these rumours are true and a Conte exit is on the horizon, Spence will have the chance to have a clean slate and prove his obvious talent and worth to whoever the next manager is.
Conte leaving Spurs may be a bad thing for Tottenham as a whole, but it may be the making of Spence in north London.
