Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to react after the club posted a GIF of something Steven Davis did in the 4-1 win over Celtic.

In the 43rd minute, the Rangers No.10 could be seen sprinting back to help his teammates defend, in what is an admirable piece of footage.

Davis is nearly on the halfway line when Odsonne Edouard robs Connor Goldson of the ball.

However, the 36-year-old still manages to catch up with the Frenchman, and eventually pokes the ball away from him and behind for a corner.

It was brilliant of Davis to even think about getting back to defend, given where he was on the pitch when Goldson slipped.

So, the fact that he was the one to actually make the tackle is fantastic.

A number of the Ibrox faithful below were also amazed by his efforts.

One fan said that it was ‘honestly unreal’ to see Davis do that, while another supporter wrote that it was ‘unbelievable’ to see.

At 36, with 660 club appearances and 124 international caps to his name, you could’ve forgiven Davis for not wanting to sprint back on this occasion.

However, the fact he did just shows what type of character he is.

Davis always wants to help his teammates, and seemingly still has the energy levels of a 26-year-old – he is a true model professional.

Let’s see how the Rangers fans on Twitter reacted to the club’s tweet…
