On this day in 1996, Arsene Wenger officially became Arsenal’s new manager.

But some fans aren’t happy with a popular YouTube channel acknowledging the legendary Frenchman’s anniversary.

AFTV posted a message on Twitter this afternoon about their former manager, who spent 22 years in charge of Arsenal.

But the group consistently made headlines for showcasing Gunners fans of an anti-Wenger disposition immediately after the matches, culminating in a huge growth of the channel.

And some fans of the Emirates Stadium club have pointed out that it might be a little late in the day to appreciate their former boss.

The 70-year-old won three Premier League titles and a record seven FA Cups during his time in North London.

Wenger also masterminded the famous 2003-04 campaign which saw his Arsenal side complete a full Premier League campaign without being defeated.

Pressure gradually mounted on the former Monaco coach who failed to secure Arsenal’s entry into the Champions League in either of his last two seasons, culminating his exit.

Wenger hasn’t stirred back into football management and has instead taken a role as FIFA’s head of global football development, being appointed in November of last year.
