Stephen Warnock has hailed the ‘unbelievable’ Joelinton and how he is now ‘running games’ for Newcastle United, as he told the Football Show on Sky Sports.
The former Premier League defender added that not many would have thought Joelinton would produce such performances for Newcastle.
Signed as a striker for a club-record transfer fee, the 25-year-old found life tough for long periods.
But, ever since Eddie Howe replaced Steve Bruce in the St James’ Park dugout, he has helped transform the Brazilian’s game.
And Warnock praised the striker turned midfielder for showing a ‘different quality’ to his game.
“That midfield now, the trio which you would never have put in place,” said Warnock. “And you would have said ‘Joelinton would be running games’.
“He has been unbelievable in that position and showcased a different quality to him.”

Joelinton himself deserve huge credit for this turnaround because he was taking a lot of hits when playing upfront.
So, not only has he showcased the mental strength to keep going, but he is now one of Newcastle’s most important players.
If the Magpies are looking for that all-round and hard-hitting midfielder, well they don’t need to search the transfer market because the answer is staring them right in the face.
Added with that, if Joelinton continues this current form, then he might end up winning the club’s Player of the Year award.
