Speaking on the On The Judy Podcast, Blackburn Rovers midfielder Bradley Johnson has been speaking about Harvey Elliott after his loan spell in Lancashire last term.
Elliott spent a season out in the Championship last term, and he was simply brilliant for Blackburn.
He grabbed seven goals and 11 assists for the Rovers last term, impressing many along the way.
Johnson was seemingly blown away by Elliott, describing him as ‘unbelievable’.
What’s been said about Elliott?
Johnson had nothing but good things to say about this young man.
“I think I go up to them. I’ve always been good with the young lads. The way I came up, I had to work hard and I’ve always tried to keep the young lads grounded. I don’t feel old, but I am old in football. Last year we had Harvey Elliott and he was unbelievable, but, he would always listen to me and come up to me and ask me questions. I feel like I get respected by young lads for what I’ve done in the game,” Johnson said.

What a player
Elliott is a top talent, and the fact that he’s earned praise from Johnson tells you all you need to know.
Johnson has played over 100 games in the Premier League, so he certainly knows what a good player looks like, while he’s also played with some incredibly talented young loanees in his time.
Don’t forget, Johnson played alongside the likes of Mason Mount and Fikayo Tomori at Derby, so the bar is set pretty high in terms of talented young loanees to have played alongside Johnson.
The future certainly looks bright for Elliott.
