Arsenal legend Ian Wright has been singing Declan Rice’s praises after his performance against Manchester United over the weekend.

Declan Rice scored in Arsenal‘s 3-1 win against United at the Emirates, with Wright describing his display as “unbelievable” on Wrighty’s House.

What exactly has Ian Wright said about Declan Rice?

Speaking about Rice on his podcast, Wright said: “He was fantastic, fantastic. Unbelievable, Unbelievable in the game.”

Arsenal’s victory over Erik ten Hag’s side has taken them into the top five and just two points behind title rivals Manchester City.

Overall, it has been a good start to the season for Mikel Arteta’s men, who have dropped points in just one of their first four fixtures so far, which came in the 2-2 draw with Fulham.

After the international break, they travel to Goodison Park to face Everton.

Declan Rice’s impact is not surprising

You cannot really be shocked that Rice is already influencing games for Arsenal. He has been playing in the Premier League for years now and has been one of the top performing defensive midfielders in the division.

According to WhoScored, the England international was in the top three players for interceptions made per game last season with an average of 1.7 (minimum of 10 matches).

His presence can certainly be felt on the pitch. And with it being early days, he can probably get even better as he adapts further to Arteta’s style and demands.

Rice did not come cheap. The Gunners paid a huge amount of money to get him out of West Ham United, but the 24-year-old is already starting to pay it back.
