Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho had some kind words of praise for Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris after the League Cup final, as broadcast on Sky Sports.
City dominated Tottenham for large periods of the contest on Sunday, particularly in the first-half.
It was put to Fernandinho that City must have been frustrated to go in at the break on level terms.
But the Brazilian midfielder could only find praise for Lloris’ display, as he said the Tottenham keeper produced some brilliant saves to keep the score at 0-0.
“We went for the game, high intensity and tried to take over the game as much as you can,” he said.
“We created some chances, but Lloris made some unbelievable saves and hit the post.
“In these kind of games you have to keep the concentration until the end of the game and it wasn’t different today.”
Lloris did indeed have one of his best games of the season as he denied City continuously.
The Frenchman, Toby Alderweireld and Eric Dier were arguably Tottenham’s top three performers at the weekend, which rather sums up how the game went.

Tottenham actually seemed to have weathered a bit of a storm at the point Aymeric Laporte struck the decisive goal from a set piece.
Lloris could do nothing with the header, which was too far away from him to save.
Tottenham’s wait for a trophy now continues, with plenty of frustration expressed over their performance on the day.
Many felt Spurs were too defensive, with interim manager Ryan Mason actually taking some criticism for his decisions from sections of the support.
Tottenham’s next task will surely be to find their next permanent boss.
And Michael Dawson said on the same programme that he feels Fulham’s Scott Parker is the man who Spurs should go for.
“I’d like to see Scott Parker,” Dawson said. “Mason said they were four or five years behind Man City, I think they’re quite a few years behind Man City actually!
“But if you look at Scott Parker, have a project. They did it with Mauricio Pochettino when he went in.
“You see the young generation, he cleared a lot of people out and started from fresh. He built on that and I think Scott Parker for me.
“He started coaching at the club, he’s a great guy.”
