Neil Harris has paid tribute to Liverpool loanee Sheyi Ojo for his performance on Saturday.
The on-loan Liverpool winger joined Cardiff City on a temporary agreement earlier in the summer.
Harris’s side drew 0-0 away to Blackburn Rovers on Saturday in a game where Ojo impressed, according to the City boss.
He said to the Bluebirds’ official website: “Sheyi has got unbelievable ability. We have to fill him with confidence and let him be himself.”
Ojo, who began his career with Liverpool, does look to need a bit of confidence.
In four Championship games for Cardiff, the 23-year-old is yet to score or set up a goal.
He had a lukewarm spell at Rangers last season, despite a promising start which included a few Europa League goals.
Harris is right when he lauds his ability, but the question is how does he tap into it on a regular basis.
At 23, Ojo isn’t that young any longer in the context of senior football and if he wants to get a permanent move away from Melwood then he’ll need to improve consistency.
