Tottenham Hotspur agreed to sell Kyle Walker to Manchester City at the weekend.
Tottenham Hotspur fans feel that Kyle Walker has been disrespectful to Mauricio Pochettino, after his comments about Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.
Walker completed a move from Spurs to City at the weekend, and he was quick to heap praise upon Guardiola.
Walker said to the Independent: “Pep Guardiola is one of the most respected managers in the world and I feel he can help me take my game to a new level.”
Spurs fans feel that Walker’s comments show a lack of acknowledgement to how big an impact Mauricio Pochettino made on his game.
Pochettino helped Walker go from a player who was once considered a defensive liability, and turned him into one of the most feared right-backs in the world.
And Tottenham supporters don’t believe Walker will progress any further upon moving to City.
Walker is the first key Tottenham player to be sold this summer, with Pochettino largely looking to keep his squad together.
Kieran Trippier is set to replace Walker in Spurs’ starting line-up next season.
