Jamie Carragher told CBS’s Champions League coverage (16/02/21 at 10:35 pm) that Mohamed Salah has an ‘unbelievable’ strike-rate for Liverpool after his showing against RB Leipzig in the Champions League.

The 28-year-old opened the scoring against when he pounced on Marcel Sabitzer’s wayward back pass and Carragher claimed that ‘we all know’ the £34m Liverpool speedster is going to put the ball into the back of the net ’99 times out if 100′ from that position.

On Monday, Carragher told Sky Sports that Sami Hyypia is Liverpool’s greatest ever Premier League signing – second to a certain Salah.

Well, yesterday, Carragher touched upon that point once again, as he shared that Salah has been one of the greatest signings in the club’s history.

“What an unbelievable strike rate this man has for Liverpool,” said Carragher. “I mean this is his 24th goal of the season and he only got 23 last season.

“The really interesting thing is that the player who gives the ball away, Sabitzer, watch him have his head in hands. He knows. We all know. When Mo Salah is in that position, 99 out of 100 that is going to be a goal.

“And that’s why he has been one of the greatest signings in Liverpool’s history.”

Even with all of Liverpool’s problems, both at the back and from a creative aspect this season, one thing that hasn’t changed is that lethal foot on the Egyptian forward.

Salah is currently leading the race for the Premier League’s Golden Boot – on 17 goals – three ahead of the next best Bruno Fernandes.

And all of this comes after a period where Liverpool went through a dry spell of not scoring, so it begs the question of how many he is going to put on the board when Klopp’s forward line is back to it’s consistent best?
