Yoane Wissa has been speaking about Nottingham Forest after Steve Cooper watched his side fight back to record a 2-2 draw over Brentford.

It was the DR Congo international who thought he’d secured all three points for the Bees with his strike to put them 2-1 up in the 75th minute, although a 96th minute own goal from Mathias Jorgensen handed Nottingham Forest an equaliser.

However, it was a deserved one – surprisingly according to Wissa himself.

Brentford man praises Nottingham Forest

Well, it isn’t often that we see a player praise the opposition after they snatch a point in the final stages, but Wissa clearly believes Nottingham Forest deserved something from the clash at the City Ground.

Speaking to BBC Sport, the Brentford No.11 said: “We were leading 2-1 but the last ten minutes were unbelievable for them. We did a great job until the last 20 seconds to concede that goal.”

Wissa is right – Nottingham Forest were good value for a point, and arguably deserved all three.

Nottingham Forest were wasteful against Brentford

As WhoScored shows, Cooper’s side had 15 shots in comparison to just six from Brentford, with seven of those hitting the target whereas the Bees got just two efforts on goal, scoring with both.

Thomas Frank’s side were simply more clinical, so Nottingham Forest will have to become similarly efficient if they want to drag themselves off the bottom of the Premier League.

As things stand, the Premier League newcomers have won just ten points from a possible 42 so far this season.

At this rate, Nottingham Forest are heading for an immediate return to the Championship.

In our view, Cooper needs Jesse Lingard, Emmanuel Dennis and others with Premier League experience to step up, as they are not pulling their weight at the moment.

Hopefully, Nottingham Forest can start putting their chances away, and begin to rise up the table.
