Paris Saint-Germain winger Lucas Moura has been linked with Tottenham Hotspur.
Paris Saint-Germain boss Unai Emery has told L’Equipe that winger Lucas Moura needs to leave the club this month as he simply won’t earn playing time in the French capital.
Moura, 25, emerged as a sensation in his native Brazil with Sao Paulo, and his record of 33 goals in 128 games earned him a move to Paris Saint-Germain in 2012, eventually linking up with the French side in 2013.
The pacey wide man has endured an up-and-down spell in France, but did hit 18 goals last season in his finest campaign for them yet – but it has been a disastrous season so far this term.
Moura hasn’t started a single league or Champions League game for PSG this season, as he has been pushed down the pecking order by the signings of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe over the summer.
The Brazilian has now seemingly reached breaking point and is angling for a move away, with two Premier League clubs allegedly leading the race for his signature before next week’s transfer deadline.
The Express report that both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are keen to take Moura to North London, with both teams eyeing up attacking reinforcements.
As the two clubs potentially line up deals for Moura, PSG boss Unai Emery has shared his position, telling L’Equipe that there simply isn’t an opportunity for playing time at the Parc des Princes.
Emery added that it’s best for everyone if Moura looks to move on this month, calling him ‘a great player’ as the winger seeks first-team football somewhere.
“I have spoken with him many times in the season,” said Emery. “With all due respect to him, here is not an option for him to have minutes. The best is that he looks for another team because he is a great player,” he added.
