Aston Villa manager Unai Emery reportedly wants to sign Daniel Ceballos from Real Madrid.

According to Sport, Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has told the club’s President of Football Operations Monchi to sign Daniel Ceballos from Real Madrid.

Villa are now reportedly planning to make a bid of €15 million (£13 million) for Ceballos.

The 26-year-old midfielder signed a new four-year contract with Madrid only in June.

Aston Villa should be careful about signing Daniel Ceballos from Real Madrid

In our opinion, Aston Villa should not make a move for Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos in the summer transfer window.

Just because Villa manager Unai Emery wants the 26-year-old does not mean that the Premier League club should sign him, even for €15 million (£13 million).

The Spain international failed to make a huge impact during his loan spell at Arsenal.

Yes, there were injury problems, but Ceballos did not do enough in his two years at Arsenal to show that he can be a success in the Premier League.

Ceballos played 49 matches in the Premier League for Arsenal.

The Madrid midfielder did not score a goal and gave five assists.

Yes, Emery worked with Ceballos at Arsenal and he might think that he could get the best out of the midfielder.

But, we all know how Steven Gerrard thought that he could rejuvenate Philippe Coutinho, and look at how that turned out.

Meanwhile, The Daily Mail has reported that Aston Villa remain keen on signing Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid in the summer transfer window.

The Portugal international forward spent the second half of last season on loan at Chelsea from Atletico.

Felix is reportedly unhappy at Atletico.

The Daily Mail has also claimed that Villa would have listened to offers for Argentina international goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, but no club has come close to meeting the likely asking price.

Martinez won the 2022 World Cup with Argentina and is now one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League.
