Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are due to meet for the second time in a month later this evening.

Arsenal boss Unai Emery has told Football London that he has urged his squad to respect Tottenham Hotspur ahead of the Carabao Cup match this evening.

Arsenal won the North London derby earlier this month, with Spurs failing to deal with their intensity on the day.

However, Emery does not want any complacency to creep into his side, and he has encouraged them to respect Tottenham.

“I say to them in every match we need to respect the opposition,” Emery said.

“Against Southampton, Tottenham, Manchester United, Huddersfield, it’s the same. This respect is playing with motivation and a lot of excitement to win. We must respect emotion in every moment. Emotion is not bad. I think showing our emotion, the players, the fans and me, is good, but every time we must respect them.”

Arsenal and Tottenham are both likely to name changed line-up from the ones that faced each other in the league.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has already hinted that he will put out a strong line-up, but some players will be rested.

Tottenham are lining up with Paulo Gazzaniga rather than Hugo Lloris in goal, and some more back-up players may also be given a chance.

Since the last North London derby Tottenham have actually been in better form than Arsenal.

Pochettino’s side have responded well to the defeat and climbed back above Arsenal in the Premier League table.
