According to Defensa Central, Aston Villa are interested in a move for Real Madrid’s Eden Hazard.
This is an exciting rumour for a number of reasons. Hazard is one of the most naturally talented footballers on the planet and he’s a player who has previously thrived in the Premier League, so this could be a match made in heaven.
However, while it’s exciting to think about Hazard being back in the Premier League, it’s even more exciting to think about him playing under Unai Emery. After all, the former Arsenal manager is a huge fan of the Belgian.
Indeed, ahead of the 2019 Europa League final, Emery showered Hazard in praise, stating that he’s a player who can produce defining moments to win games.

Emery is a fan of Hazard
The former Arsenal boss spoke about the winger ahead of that Europa League final.
“Hazard is a player of moments, defining moments. It is what we have to avoid,” Emery said.
“Chelsea can win thanks for them, and this match-winning capability we’ve only seen in Messi, Cristiano, Neymar or Salah. For me, he is in the top five players around the world.
One man army
Emery was absolutely right about Hazard, this is the type of player who can win a game by himself, and that’s what Villa need right now.
The Midlands club can be a cohesive unit – as they showed against Brentford, but when things aren’t going their way, sometimes they just need a moment of magic to turn the tide in their favour.
Hazard is a player who can produce that – well, he used to be able to at least, whether or not he still has that in his locker remains to be seen.
If Emery can get Hazard playing at his best, Villa will have a real star on their hands.
