Umaro Balde has vowed not to disappoint after joining Rangers earlier this summer.

Balde’s move Ibrox was confirmed at the end of August, after months of speculation.

And the young Portuguese midfielder has finally announced his arrival, posting the following message on Instagram earlier this evening (Tuesday).

Balde (Sporting CP) was one of four academy signings unveiled by Rangers on the very same day, along with Ross McCausland, Lewis MacKinnon (both Linfield) and Kane Ritchie-Hosler (Manchester City).

The quartet travelled with Rangers’ Under-17s to last month’s Spartak Cup in Moscow, with Krystof Hampl also involved.

Unlike his peers, Hampl has yet to have his move to Ibrox confirmed, although the Czech midfielder’s Instagram bio states that he is a ‘player @rangersfc’.

Balde was born in Guinea-Bissau, but has Portuguese citizenship, and has been capped five times by his adopted country at U15 level.
