Umar Sadiq didn’t score a single Scottish Premiership goal for Rangers and appears to have no future at Serie A giants AS Roma.
Almost a year to the day, Umar Sadiq signed for Rangers.
Little did we know at the time that the Roma striker would prove to be one of the biggest flops at Ibrox since they returned to the top flight in 2016. And considering that Joey Barton, Philippe Senderos, Carlos Pena and Eduardo Herrera have also pulled on the famous blue shirt in the last few years, he is hardly short of competition.
In total, Sadiq played just four times, scored no goals and saw his ill-fated loan deal ripped up in December.
Not that things have got much better for the Nigerian U23 international since that disastrous spell at Ibrox came to an end.
18 games in Serie B with Perugia saw Sadiq hit the target just three times as he continued to look leggy, cumbersome and far from convincing in front of goal.
And he will now be desperate to save his ailing reputation with yet another loan move. Sadiq has joined Serbian SuperLiga giants Partizan Belgrade until the end of the 2019/20 season.
This has rather last-chance saloon feel about it. If he struggles once again away from the Stadio Olimpico, that could be his Roma career over for good.
