Kyle Lafferty re-signed for Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers in August.

Umar Sadiq has told The Sunday Post that his failure at Rangers is linked to the club’s purchase of Kyle Lafferty.
Rangers signed the Roma striker on a season-long loan last summer but the Scottish giants terminated the agreement in January and sent him back to Italy.
It looked like the 22-year-old was going to be the Gers’ second-choice striker behind Alfredo Morelos for much of the season, but manager Steven Gerrard signed Kyle Lafferty a week before the summer window closed.
In doing so, Sadiq, who started one game for the club, was now Gerrard’s third-choice option.
“I started only once and that was when there were no other strikers available,” he told The Sunday Post.
“As I say, for me everything went wrong after they brought in another striker.
“When I arrived, I didn’t even have any time to settle down before they brought in another striker, Kyle Lafferty.”
It would make it easier for Sadiq to bare if Lafferty was a huge success at Ibrox, but he hasn’t been. The Northern Irishman has only managed four Premiership goals for Rangers, and only has two goals since September in all competitions.
The light Blues’ signing of Jermain Defoe in January has seen him take up the Sadiq role of being Gerrard’s third-in-line option.
Sadiq has since joined Perugia on loan in Italy’s second tier, and has two goals in his last three games.
