Rangers loanee Umar Sadiq is set to leave Ibrox in the coming days.

According to Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio, Rangers striker Umar Sadiq is nearing an Ibrox exit, with a medical at Perugia potentially lined up for midweek.
Sadiq, 21, was snapped up by Steven Gerrard in a loan deal from Roma over the summer to bolster Rangers’ attacking options, but always seemed like something of a punt after a patchy record.
Five goals in 12 for NAC Breda was a decent return last season, but struggles with Bologna and Torino meant Rangers didn’t really know what to expect from the giant Nigerian.
Remarkably, Sadiq only played four times for Rangers and started just once, which was a disastrous showing against Aberdeen in the semi-final of the Scottish League Cup.
Sadiq hasn’t appeared for Rangers since that day, and after Ovie Ejaria returned to Liverpool on Saturday, it seems that striker Sadiq will become the latest player to move on.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Sadiq is nearing a move back to Italy with Perugia, with another loan move from Roma on the cards, and he could have his medical on Tuesday.

There have been murmurings in recent days that Sadiq’s loan deal was being terminated but nothing officially communicated by the club, and that could arrive in the coming days with the striker seemingly nearing a move to Umbria.
Bringing an end to Sadiq’s time at Ibrox is probably a smart move given his struggles, and may now free up room to bring in another striker to support Alfredo Morelos and Kyle Laffery in January.
