Carol Foro has taken to social media to announce she will not be competing on March 28 as originally scheduled.

It has not been all that common lately for fighters on the roster to get pulled up for positive drug tests.

Mohammed Usman, for instance, is serving a suspension that runs through to 2028, after he was found in violation of the UFC’s Anti-Doping policy earlier this year.

Rather than sit out the entire length of his ban, Usman opted to cut ties with the organisation altogether.

Another fighter has now tested positive, but in this case, she chose to make the announcement public with an accompanying statement.

Originally, Israel Adesanya was set to return in 2025, but an injury during training delayed his comeback even further.

Instead, he is back on March 28 at the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, headlining a Fight Night card that will no longer feature one of its previously scheduled fighters.

Carol Foro had been slated to make her UFC debut next month against Stephanie Luciano until a new match-up was announced.

On February 18, Leo Walker Guimaraes reported that Luciano is now scheduled to face Alexia Thainara on that date, along with an explanation for the change.

Foro’s team took to Instagram to reveal she had tested positive for a diuretic in an out-of-competition test earlier this year, which led to her debut being scrapped.

They claim Foro did not take it “consciously or intentionally” and suspect it may have come from a supplement. This has prompted them to conduct tests in order to support their case.

Carol Foro caught Dana White’s eye last September, earning a contract through the Contender Series

Foro had been building momentum ahead of her planned UFC debut next month, largely because of how she impressed last September.

Her place on the roster was earned by the Brazilian through Dana White’s Contender Series.

In episode five of that season, both Foro and her opponent Shanelle Dyer, despite Dyer losing her unbeaten record, secured contracts after a strong showing.

Fortunately for UFC Seattle, Alexia Thainara is also regarded as a prospect worth watching. Her stepping in is seen as a solid replacement for the card.
