Paddy Pimblett told a press conference – as per Sky Sports – that he loves new Liverpool signing Luis Diaz, when picking his 5-a-side Reds team from their current players. He thinks Diaz is ‘ripping up the Premier League’.

Diaz, 25, joined Liverpool in the summer from FC Porto – after the Reds elbowed Tottenham side in the race to sign the Colombia international. He has since sparkled in a Reds shirt, scoring two goals in his 11 appearances.

The winger started on the left against Arsenal on Wednesday evening at the Emirates, and while he did not have the desired impact – Jurgen Klopp clearly trusts him enough already to throw him in ahead of Mo Salah.

Asked for his Liverpool 5-a-side team ahead of his UFC fight with Rodrigo Vargas on Saturday night in London, Liverpool fan Pimblett picked Alisson, Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho, Mo Salah and Diaz – before praising him.

“He’s an absolute phenomenon,” Pimblett said – when picking his 5-a-side team. “That man has turned up and absolutely ripped the Premier League apart already. He’s going to be some player, him.”

Pimblett on Diaz: Liverpool star looks like the ideal Anfield signing

Jurgen Klopp has a very specific want and need when it comes to new signings. They have to fit his style, his demanding work rate all over the pitch, his need for goals from his players out wide.

Not many fit the criteria of Klopp. But Diaz has everything that Klopp could have wanted. The work rate, the aggression and tenacity, the forward runs, the type of star that wants to score rather than create. He is ideal for Klopp.
