Bayern Munich are now ready to discuss Marcel Sabitzer’s future at the Allianz Arena if the midfielder asks to be released from his contract early, with Arsenal interested in a transfer.
That’s according to Kicker, who note Sabitzer is facing great uncertainty over his role under Julian Nagelsmann this summer. The Bundesliga gaints are keen to strengthen their engine room, with RB Leipzig star Konrad Laimer a leading target, despite having a raft of options.

Sabitzer only joined Bayern Munich from RB Leipzig last summer for £13.5m, but struggled to establish himself in Bavaria. The 28-year-old only started eight German top-flight games from 27 appearances, and opened one of five in the Champions League, for 1,076 minutes.

Nagelsmann had to wait until April before Sabitzer scored his first Bayern Munich goal in a 4-1 win at SC Freiburg, as well. The 64-cap Austria international also did not lay on his first assist until beating Borussia Dortmund 3-1 in April. They were his only goal involvements.
So, with competition for places likely to hot up even further, Bayern Munich are now ready to talk if Sabitzer asks to be released from his contract early. He agreed to a four-year deal with Der FCB last summer, worth €7m-a-year (£112k-a/w), after seven years at RB Leipzig.
Arsenal are interested in Sabitzer switch amid Bayern Munich uncertainty
Developments at Bayern Munich regarding Sabitzer may intrigue Arsenal, having shown an interest in his transfer this summer, per Bild. Mikel Arteta has explored a deal for the 5 ft 9 maestro, but so have Atletico Madrid with Diego Simeone prepared to take him to La Liga.

Sabitzer showed at RB Leipzig what he can offer from the engine room as the driving force of the Roten Bullen unit. He followed boss Nagelsmann to the Allianz Arena on the back of taking his tally in Saxony to 52 goals and 42 assists in 229 appearances in all competitions.
He also captained the Red Bull Arena outfit, alongside striking nine goals and seven assists in 2020/21. But despite retaining interest from Arsenal and Atletico Madrid during a tough term with Bayern Munich, Sabitzer did not impress each time he stepped foot on the pitch.
“He was a luxury transfer,” ex-FCB chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told Sky Germany, via quotes by Bulinews. “He hasn’t improved the squad in the way we might have imagined.”
