Barcelona know that Sergio Reguilon would be ‘delighted’ to join the La Liga side, with Xavi Hernandez interested in the Tottenham Hotspur defender as his Marcos Alonso alternative.
That’s according to AS, who report Xavi has marked Reguilon as his ‘Plan B’ option to move to the Camp Nou. The Blaugrana boss is prioritising a deal with Chelsea for Alonso. But the Blues have so far rebuffed the Catalan giants’ efforts to take the 31-year-old back to Spain.

Alonso has already agreed personal terms with Barcelona to end his six years at Stamford Bridge. However, Chelsea are loath to sell to Xavi after the Blaugrana pipped the Blues to deals with Leeds United for winger Raphinha and now Sevilla for centre-half Jules Kounde.

Tottenham, meanwhile, are open to selling Reguilon, but would want €25m (£21m) for the 25-year-old. Antonio Conte is ready to sanction his sale as the Spaniard has a challenge for minutes in north London against Ryan Sessegnon and Spurs’ summer signing, Ivan Perisic.
Barcelona are aware of what Tottenham would demand for Reguilon having met his agent, Kia Joorabchian, in Miami earlier this month. He informed their director of football, Mateu Alemany, that Spurs will consider a permanent sale or a loan, potentially with a buy clause.
Sevilla have also shown an interest in signing Reguilon, who Real Madrid have an option to buy-back. AS note Tottenham agreed to give Los Blancos a €40m (£33.5m) clause, which is due to expire on August 31, as part of his €30m (£25m) arrival from the Galacticos in 2020.
Barcelona are now considering advancing Xavi’s interest in signing Reguilon off Tottenham with Chelsea playing hardball over Alonso. Although Calciomercato report Spurs managing director, Fabio Paratici, has also recently offered the £48k-a-week full-back to Inter Milan.
