Liverpool Under-23 assistant coach Gary O’Neil has raved about Owen Beck on talkSPORT.
O’Neil has spoken highly of the 18-year-old left-back, who is now a regular for the Liverpool Under-23 side.
The former West Ham United and Queens Park Rangers midfielder has added that the teenager has already trained with Jurgen Klopp’s first-team squad.
O’Neil told talkSPORT: “Owen Beck is an amazing one. He’s a young boy, he’s very small.
“He’s been underdeveloped the whole way through, so he’s always been the smallest in his age group, one of the youngest.
“He’s played every game for us at Under-23 level this season and has done some training sessions with the first-team.”
One for the future
Liverpool have produced some wonderful young players in recent years, such as Trent Alexander-Arnold, Curtis Jones and Rhys Williams.
Manager Klopp has given chances to talented and promising academy graduates, and Beck could make his breakthrough soon.
The teenager seems to be a very talented and promising young left-back, and if he continues to do well for the Under-23 side, then it is only a matter of time before he makes his debut for the senior team.
Beck is only 18 years of age, and for now, he should be allowed to grow and develop at his own pace and should not be put under undue pressure.
Liverpool are four points clear at the top of the Premier League table at the moment and have also progressed to the knockout rounds of the Champions League this season.
