Tyson Fury has once again used his platform to speak up in defence of someone facing online abuse.
The former heavyweight champion shared a public message after seeing ‘Big John’ Fisher targeted by trolls over his appearance.
Fury’s response was rooted in his own experiences of criticism, offering encouragement rather than sympathy.
The message quickly resonated, not just with Big John himself, but with many who have followed Fury’s openness around body image.
Tyson Fury backs ‘Big John’ Fisher and dismisses online abuse
Fury addressed Big John directly after seeing his video about people mocking him, making his stance clear from the outset.
“This is a message to ‘Big John’ Fisher. I just saw your video there about some idiots trolling you for being fat. Take no notice, mate,” Fury said.
“You’re inspiring masses around the world. All the fat men, all the dad bods, and all the real people in the world, you inspire us, buddy.”
Fury also shared his own history with similar criticism. “They told me I was fat all my life,” he added.
“They told me I couldn’t do this and I couldn’t do that. I didn’t let it affect me. I embraced it like you do.”
Turning his attention to the trolls, Fury dismissed them in a typically blunt fashion.
“It’s just jealous sausages who haven’t got the guts to do anything for themselves who hate on other people.”
He closed with encouragement, urging Big John to continue being himself. “Keep embracing it, keep being fat, and keep inspiring. All the best, my brother. Bosh!”

‘Big John’ Fisher responds to message from the Gypsy King
‘Big John’ Fisher was quick to respond after receiving Fury’s message, clearly appreciating the support from one of boxing’s biggest names.
“Not every day you get a message from the main man,” he wrote. “Up the hyper-nourished. Gypsy King bosh.”
The exchange was met with positivity, as many praised Fury for using his voice to counter online negativity.
For Big John, the message appeared to reinforce the confidence and humour that had helped him build his following in the first place.
