Aston Villa’s signing of Tyrone Mings on loan has had a big impact on the club’s push for promotion.

Mings has been a regular since signing from Bournemouth and Villa are on a winning streak which has propelled them into the play-offs.

Mings’ performances have drawn praise from fans and pundits alike, including ex-Villa great, Paul McGrath.

This weekend the 26-year-old spotted McGrath’s kind words from earlier this month and replied to him.

He said the message from the former Villa star meant a great deal to him.

Regardless of whether Villa win promotion or not, Mings is a player the club need to sign.

He has rebuilt his reputation after injury struggles and Villa fans have taken to him.

He too, appears to be enjoying his time at the club, and however the season ends up, he can say he has played a pivotal role.
