Tyrone Mings has taken to Twitter to express his delight after completing a deadline day move to Aston Villa, having joined on loan from Bournemouth.

BBC Sport reports that the defender had the choice of several Championship sides on the final day of the January transfer window, but decided to head to Villa Park to link up with Dean Smith’s men until the end of the season.

And following the announcement that he has joined for the rest of the campaign, the 25-year-old has taken to social media to suggest how pleased he was to join Villa until the summer…

Villa fans will be hoping that he can help Smith’s men improve defensively. The Villans’ record at the back is the worst in the top-half of the Championship, so they could not allow the window to close without adding to their options.

Mings has struggled with injury since his £8 million move to Bournemouth (via BBC Sport). But he boasts a lot of talent, and will surely be determined to make up for lost time following a frustrating spell with the Cherries.

Certainly, if Aston Villa can become a much more solid unit at the back, they have the potential to move themselves right into the promotion discussion in the Championship after a mixed few months.
