Aston Villa defender Tyrone Mings posted on Conor Coady’s Instagram ‘what a man’ after he made his 300th appearance for Wolves.

Wolves suffered a 1-0 FA Cup defeat to Norwich City, with ex-Aston Villa boss Dean Smith knocking out the Midlands side.

After the game, the 28-year-old expressed his disappointment at getting dumped out of the cup, but stated that it ‘fills me with enormous pride’ at reaching such a milestone.

Both Coady and Mings were part of the England squad that reached the final of Euro 2020, with the Villa man playing the opening two matches.

Mings helped the Three Lions secure clean sheets in both of his appearances, and despite criticism towards his selection, he did his talking on the pitch.

Ahead of the forthcoming internationals, it will be interesting to see if both Mings and Coady keep their places in Gareth Southgate’s side because they have been regulars for a while now.

Whilst Wolves haven’t been free-scoring this term, they have been much stronger at the back, with Coady playing a part in their push for Europe.

Mings was dropped when Smith was in charge after an indifferent time at whilst wearing the captain’s armband.

But the Villa captain has picked up his form under Steven Gerrard and he will be hoping that his team can make a late sure into those top-eight places.
